Have you ever wondered how the magic happens here at Boom? How exactly are your favourite Boom pieces created?

From the first spark of inspiration to the moment your outfit lands in your wardrobe, there’s a whole world of work, passion and creativity behind the seams.

When you wear your favourite Boom piece, you aren’t just looking and feeling good, you are also supporting a local Sunshine Coast brand that, in turn, supports a whole network of local women (and we can’t forget our two men!).

Every item we design passes through many hands and each person in our team plays a big part in bringing it to life. Here’s how we make the magic happen.

From concept to clothing

The journey starts in our design room at Peregian Beach, where Dui, our queen of colour and creative director, works with our design team, Maria, Lauren and Micky, to dream up future collections.

They chat colours, prints, shapes and vibes. There are moodboards, sketches, design discussions, and hundreds of ideas pinned to walls. Then come the tech packs, samples, fittings, tweaks, and more fittings. Together, our design team considers everything from the silhouette to the softness of a waistband, working months, and often years, ahead of time.

Fun fact: The clothes you’ll see in late 2026 and early 2027 are being designed right now.

Once everything’s just right, the designs are sent to our trusted production partners in India. We have worked with the same team in India for many years, who are like a second family to Dui.

The fabric is carefully woven, dyed and printed. For a garment like our signature Guru Pant, it can take up to 3 metres of fabric per pant. The fabric is layered on large cutting tables, the patterns printed and chalked, then the pieces cut and sewn by our wonderful artisans. Labels are added, threads are trimmed, and quality is checked before the final pieces are ready.

Our General Manager, Liv, and Accounts Manager, Nina, are there to make sure everything runs smoothly. They lead the way, always planning our next big moves and solving problems as we go.

Next step: photography! To be able to show you our beautiful creations, each piece needs to be photographed and set free into the world. Our marketing team, Brea, Portia and Lily, create the campaigns you see online, in-store and in print, that bring each collection to life. They write the words, design the graphics and create the content that fills your inboxes and Instagram feeds.

Bel and Megs are our in-store angels, who keep our Noosaville boutique stocked, running like a dream and looking fab for an amazing shopping experience, with Yenny, Lisa and Libbi there to play dress ups with you.

At the warehouse, husband-and-wife duo Rupert and Nikki step in. They make sure everything has arrived safely, count inventory and prep orders, so when you click “add to cart,” your Boom goodies are sent with love and care.
