Personal expression through clothes is such a… well, personal expression! So I love seeing different pieces people style together, and why they do. I asked 3 of the girls in the Boom Shankar office to show me there current favourites from our winter collection and tell me why they love wearing them. Oh, and remember, these pieces might be from our “winter collection” but they are still very wearable for spring, which is just around the corner!
Portia is our marketing kween. Portia LOVES the Sage Block Atlantic Top with the 3 contrasting colours, as it’s 100% cotton but feels more like a jersey fabric as it's a little bit heavier, so good for the cooler weather. She’s styled it with the Forest Kent Wide Leg Pants which are also made of 100% cotton, but what’s special about them, is that they’re made with our unique traditional wooden block print fabric. The Forest Kent Wide Leg Pants are a very fun 1970s style cut (bring back the flares!) and the fabric feels light weight yet durable. The pants sit perfectly high on the
waist and there are belt loops and side pockets so all your needs are covered.
Portia loves how the greens in both the pants and top compliment each other even though they’re different shades and she loves this outfit for work and seeing friends on the weekend.

Next up is Georgie, our creative and content curating super-star. Georgie’s favourite outfit this week is the White Squiggle Shirt with the Forest Kent Tunic. The easy fit of the 100% cotton shirt, with the all-over squiggle embroidery, adds a pop (or squiggle) of colour, and something a little different to your traditional white shirt. The White Squiggle Shirt can be styled with so many different pieces, and turn that classic long sleeve white into a statement. I also find (sorry Georgie, my turn) these classic long sleeve white shirts make great pieces in summer, worn over swimmers to protect you from the sun.
The Forest Kent Tunic, made with our unique traditional wooden block print fabric, is a cute ‘all year round’ addition to your wardrobe. Featuring cute adjustable shoulder strap ties, a pocket on the chest and two pockets on the hips, “which makes it great for carrying things around”. Georgie found her usual size was perfect but was a little fitted around the hips, so if you prefer something loose around ya goose, maybe size up. Georgie finds this outfit perfect for work and thinks it would be great for teachers as it brings a little fun and colour into the classroom

Breanna is our website and digital marketing wizard. She’s styled the Fawn Elka Sweater with the super fun Manhattan Soho Pant. The Elka sweater is 100% Cotton and a great layering piece over tops or dresses, with it's lovely soft fawn colour which makes this sweater incredibly versatile with most other colour tones. Teamed with the super comfortable high waisted Manhattan Soho Pant, which Breanna just LOVES the fabric of, with the colourful stripes and that fun shimmering lurex thread. Worn casually with her converse sneakers, she loves this outfit for grabbing a coffee with the girls on the weekends, or thinks it would make a great outfit for teachers (seems like her a Georgie always look out for teachers)
“Don’t be scared of what a stripe can do for your curves”, Breanna says. She thinks stripes are very flattering for pear shaped body types, and that she is the proof of that! Amen I say!
