Behind the Scenes at the Boom Shankar Kids Photoshoot
On Monday 15 September, something very special happened on Noosa Main Beach. We invited nine gorgeous mums, one very stylish grandma and ten little girls to take part in the very first Boom Shankar KIDS photoshoot. What followed was pure magic.

Picture this: ten energetic little chicks, aged between two and eight, racing barefoot across the sand, laughter floating on the sea breeze, colour everywhere you looked. There was no mistaking us for anyone else but Boom Shankar.

The day unfolded exactly as we hoped it would, completely unscripted and full of joy. There were sandcastles built and promptly knocked down, tug-of-war battles, running races, fun-flags and plenty of playful moments in between. It was chaotic in the best possible way, and it perfectly captured the true spirit of our brand: fun, colour and happiness, shared together.

Dui joined us on the day wearing the ladies Lucia Playsuit in our Capri Splice print, delighting in the chance to match a few little minis along the way. “Oh, I just love their little spirits and their cute little personalities,” she said, and honestly, we couldn’t agree more.

Boom Shankar Kids has been a long time in the making. Over the years, we’ve received countless requests from our community asking for children’s styles, and it’s something we’ve always held close to our hearts. It all began many years ago with our Kids Rosanna Skirts, exact miniature replicas of the beloved women’s style. As our collections evolved into a more contemporary direction, we knew that when the time was right, we’d revisit kidswear in a fresh way.
After the incredible response to our Capri Stripe colourway, the timing felt perfect. From there, a short but sweet collection for girls aged two to eight was born, designed to celebrate movement, play and individuality, just like the little people wearing it.

A huge thank you to the mums and our beautiful grandma who also joined in on the dress-ups, wearing their favourite Boom Shankar Capri Stripe pieces. Seeing real women, across generations, enjoying and sharing our clothing with their little ones is what this brand is all about.
This day was more than a photoshoot. It was a celebration of family, colour, connection and the next generation of Boom girls. And honestly, we’re just getting started.
