This November we’ve decided to put our mo growing abilities to the test, to celebrate the 1970s moustache (even if just for a month) and raise money for a great movement supporting worthy causes.

Firstly, I have to admit one thing, we probably won’t be growing much in the form of mos as our Boom team is pretty much all mo-sisters, BUT you will get to see us donning some classic numbers throughout the month (thanks to all the fun apps available), and we ask our Boom Community to share with us their hairy wares, both our Mo Bros and Mo Sisters, and jump on board the Movember train too.

For the month of November Boom Shankar will be donating 15% of all mens shirt sales to Movember, and all customers will go in the draw to win a “Mo Bro Face Care Package” filled with locally made skincare products and mo related goodies.

So, what is Movember?

Born over a few beers in a bar in Australia, an idea sparked between two mates to bring the moustache back (“whatever happened to it anyway?”) and raise money for some serious male health causes. And remember, this was way before the hipsters of today brought mos back onto the streets… so neatly.

Since 2003, November has funded more than 1,250 men’s health projects around the world, challenging the status quo, shaking up men’s health research and transforming the way health services reach and support men.

"We know men are struggling, and need us more than ever, so now’s the time to make a stand – for our fathers, partners, brothers, sons and friends."

With money raised by the Movember community here in Australia, Movember can continue to deliver the kind of programs, information and awareness that will help our community weather this storm and beyond, and to keep lifesaving cancer research and trials on track. 

Movember’s goal is to reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25% and halving the number of deaths from prostate and testicular cancer by 2030. Everything the Movember team do is to stop men dying too young and help them live happier, healthier, longer lives.
